Continuing our conversation with best-selling author and Ayurvedic nutritionist, Sahara Rose, we now take the plunge into understanding the Gunas. Just like there are three Doshas—Vata, Pitta and Kapha—in Ayurveda there are also three cosmic forces, which are the subtler forms of each Dosha—prana, tejas, and ojas. These energies are present in the foods you eat, and consuming foods that are high in prana, tejas, or ojas can bring those energies into your body. After Sahara educates us about the Gunas, I quiz her on what tools we need at home to make Ayruvedic recipes in our modern kitchen. The go-to kitchen tools she loves may surprise you!

Sahara Rose is the best-selling author of the Idiot's Guide to Ayurveda, which is the #1 best-selling Ayurveda book globally and the upcoming Eat Feel Fresh: A Plant-Based Ayurvedic Cookbook. She has been called “a leading voice for the millennial generation into the new paradigm shift” by Deepak Chopra, who wrote the foreword of both her titles.

Best-selling author and Ayurvedic nutritionist, Sahara Rose, loved the wisdom of the Ayurvedic diet for its intuitive and customizable nature, but longed to make it more alkaline, plant-based, and low-glycemic. Today, she tells us about her journey reviving this ancient science for a modern, alkaline kitchen. Since the Doshas so often steal the show in any conversation about Ayurveda, I ask Sahara to educate us about the Six Tastes of Ayurveda instead. We demystify terms like “Pungent” and “Astringent” and learn how you can cook one Ayurvedic meal that will feed your whole family, even if everyone has a different predominate Dosha! Listen to learn more.

Do you dread being approached by network marketers? Or perhaps you’ve considered joining a MLM to help support your wellness business with essential oils or supplements? Regardless of what camp you’re in, you’re going to want to listen to this episode with mom, yogini and network marketer, Bec Hilton. We dissect why network marketing makes so many people feel icky. We talk about the perceptions, judgments and opportunities in this industry. We also answer the biggest question – what are the pros and cons of joining an MLM as a yogi, massage therapist or healer? How do we interweave yoga, business and spirituality? Listen to find out more.

---

Bec Hilton aka "Diverging Yogi" moves around the globe frequently with two young sons and an amazing Hubby. Yoga has long been Bec's “go-to” in forming connections with people, cultures and places as she journeys to locations near and far. Bec Hilton brands herself as the Diverging Yogi as she applies the "teachings of yoga*" off the sticky-mat and into her Skincare Business and utilizes the freedom (time, and money) it provides to focus her energy on Karma Yoga! Bec's passion project is teaching yoga at a RefugeeCentre for Women, actually unrecognized Refugees (Refugees in Malaysia have no legal status). She describes it as soul rewarding and attributes the freedom to be able to offer Karma Yoga to her Personal Development disguised as her Skincare Business.
